2011 Small Lot Counoise
With a saturated ruby color, our Small Lot Counoise exhibits aromas of mixed spices, strawberry and cherry. This wine has a nice round mid-palate and flavors of cocoa and graham that last from start to finish.
The Counoise and Grenache we harvested from our Marina vineyard and the Barbera from our Smith vineyard, all in the Livermore Valley. These grapes were ultra-farmed, handpicked into half-ton bins, and hand sorted in order to ensure premium quality.
The Counoise was fermented in stainless steel tanks and pumped over twice daily. The Grenache and Barbera were fermented in 1 ½ ton open top fermenters and hand punched down twice daily.
All varietals were aged in French, American, Eastern European, and neutral oak for 11 months.
