The Vineyard Tasting Room, located at the Wente Vineyards Event Center, offers a spectatular setting for wine tasting. Our knowledgeable staff will guide you through your choice of wine flights sampling the best of California varietals as well as our exclusive Small-Lot and The Nth Degree wines.

Wine Tasting in the Caves
If you are visiting us on the weekend, be sure not to miss our Wine Tasting in our caves, offered on Saturdays and Sundays at 12:00pm, 1:00pm and 3:00pm.

The tasting chronicles the history of the Cresta Blanca history from the earthshaking 1889 medal win in Paris through the end of the next century when the Wente family turned this winery into a resort. The tour finishes in the sandstone caves with a special tasting of our current special release wines.

Event Center History
In 1981, the Wente Family purchased the long abandoned Cresta Blanca winery site. Building by building, the winery began to regain its elegance. New white stucco walls with red tile roofs were surrounded by replanted vineyards at the foot of the hillsides. Next came the restoration of 650 feet of sandstone aging caves. As they did originally, the caves still provide an ideal resting place for sparkling wine as it ages and matures. When the renovation was complete the old Cresta Blanca winery had been transformed into the Wente Vineyards Event Center and Vineyard Tasting Room.
