2008 Small Lot Cabernet Sauvignon, Livermore Valley

Our 2008 Small Lot Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits aromas of black cherry and cassis, with a hint of toasted oak, coffee, blueberry and vanilla cream. Flavors of chocolate, cinnamon, cherry, and cassis, create a smooth finish with earthy undertones and a smoky oak finish.

Vineyard:

The Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested from the Golf and Smith vineyard blocks in the Livermore Valley as well as our Estate vineyard in Napa Valley. The Petite Sirah was harvested from the Marina Blocks, the Malbec was harvested from the Sacchau block, and the Touriga National was harvested from the Hayes block.

Fermentation:

The Cabernet Sauvignon & Malbec were fermented in stainless steel tanks. The Petite Sirah and Touriga National were fermented in 1 ½ ton bins. 

Aging:

All varietals were aged separately for 18 months in a combination of French, American, and Eastern European oak.
