Restaurant General Manager
The Restaurant at Wente Vineyards in beautiful Livermore Valley Wine Country has an exciting career opportunity for the exemplary hospitality professional.
The General Manager position is hands-on, working five dining room shifts per week, and responsible for successfully directing all aspects of FOH operations. The ideal candidate must possess a strong knowledge of food, American west coast wines and spirits. The ideal candidate will have high-volume experience and have worked in a comparable fine dining restaurant noted for providing warm hospitality and appointed technical service.
The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of experience as a GM or AGM with P&L responsibility and a proven track record of:
- Providing effective leadership and direction; building great staff morale, professionalism and an inspired high performing team.
- Ability to multi-task and lead up to 50+ employees
- Delivering authentic hospitality and solid technical service, building strong guestrelationships, loyalty and advocacy
- Providing and implementing strong employee training programs; on-going training
- Sales growth and innovationDelivering outstanding management and financial business results
- Community outreach and marketing

Catering Sous Chef
Wente Vineyards Catering Kitchen, in Livermore, is now hiring for the position of Sous Chef. Individuals must have intense passion for wonderful food, attention to detail and desire to work in a diverse team environment. Applicants must have two years minimum supervisory experience in a fine dining establishment.
Individuals must also possess the following abilities:
Strong leadership skills
Experienced palate
Innovative food cost control
Effective labor cost control
Endless efforts toward total quality improvement
Continuous staff development and training

This Sous Chef position is for the catering department, and in the catering world we execute many types of events from weddings, corporate events, winemakers dinners, conferences, golf tournament events and box lunches. We treat all events with the same respect, I want the sandwiches to be just as perfect as the high-end sit-down wedding. Our goal is to provide our guests with the same dining experience as if they were to eat in our restaurant. We are dedicated to preparing our food al a minute in any catering situation. We support our local farmers and believe in using only ingredients that are in season.
With our departments growing off-site business those individuals with off premise catering experience are an asset to our kitchen. However, not having off premise catering does not exclude individuals from the Sous Chef position.

Catering Kitchen - Off-Site Catering Cooks
As we expand our business out into the Bay Area bringing the Wente name directly to the public, we will be looking for a variety of cooks at different skill levels as ?On Call? staff. These positions are part-time and generally work the weekend shift at a premium rate.

Catering Kitchen - Cook II
Posting Description Wente Vineyards Catering Department is looking for a cook II. You must have an overall understanding of all cooking methods, a basic working knowledge of restaurant or catering operations, and be able to adapt to new and possibly stressful situations. You must have basic knife skills and be able to successfully multi-task.

Catering Kitchen - Cook I
Requires a minimum of one year of high-end restaurant and/ or catering experience at a similar level. Two or more years of cumulative culinary experience or education is preferred. You must have an excellent background in all cooking methods. You will be expected to provide direct support to the chefs in the preparation and execution of all catered events, displaying superior time management, multi-tasking and listening skills.
