Wente Vineyards Rave Reviews
We are so proud of all the memorable experiences our guests and friends are having at our property and excited to share what some peole are saying on Yelp! The Course at Wente Vineyards
Livermore typically conjures up images of windmills and nuclear labs. That's too bad, because a little off the beaten path, nestled in suprisingly lush vineyards, is a resort-quality course that's open to the public. Even if you're not much of a golfer, you'll fall in love with the carts-only course as it loops around lakes, vineyards, and oak groves. There are very few courses (especially public ones) where you can find varied terrain like this. Can't wait to go back!!!
This truly is a nice golf course. It offers all the elements I look for...a challenging layout, great vista views of surrounding mountains and vineyards, a nice practice facility (driving range is located above the course and requires a cart or bus ride to get their), and a comfortable clubhouse.
Gotta give Wente a 5-star rating. I play a lot of golf, and like to play at different courses - so I've been around the block. I'm gonna go ahead and call Wente one of my three favorite public courses around. And for $65 at twilight? That's a sweet deal!!
Fantastic "resort" quality golf experience in the San Francisco Bay Area. The staff is very friendly - from the moment you arrive and they take your clubs out of your car until after the round where they clean up all the mess you made.
I have played high end public courses like Presidio GC, and many private country clubs in the bay area. This course blows them all away in my opinion. Fairway, rough, green condition is impeccable. Service is great. Nothing cheesy on the whole course, not even ball machines..they stack the range balls neatly in pyramids at the secluded driving range. Although the course is very challenging, it offers 4 different tees to fit your skill level.
The Concerts at Wente Vineyards
So I may have to educate my Mom on musical groups, but I don't need to educate anyone about what a lovely venue Wente Vineyards is. Nestled among lighted trees and under a canopy of stars, this may be by far my favorite place to see a concert. It's intimate, it has great wine, the food is delicious and who doesn't love seeing a concert as the sun sets slowly in the west?
If you haven't spent a night out at Wente Vinyards, under the stars, fantastic food, atmosphere, wine & music....you are truly missing out!!! A fabulous venue from beginning to end. Great people, family owned and they all make you feel welcome! Go!!!
The venue was beautifully lit, with palm trees framing the stage. The sound quality was great, especially if you love jazz. We were all enriched and blessed to be there.
I am still drooling over the meal we had at Wente! It was fabulous. What a perfect evening it was. Beautiful setting, fun music and great food and wine.
We recently went to our first concert at Wente Vineyards and had a blast. The venue is beautiful and intimate, the food was delicious (my husband went back for 2nds on dinner & dessert), and what could be better than a glass of good wine and some music.
This review is not about the performers (Blondie, who was dazzlingly good, and Pat Benatar, who was ridiculous) but about the venue. What a lovely place: very good sound, beautiful environment, complementary coffee, handsome portable toilets, and very helpful and courteous ushers. Seriously, I write this review because those grounds people were so good at dealing with the hundreds of people
The Restaurant at Wente Vineyards
I came to Wente to check out the wedding venue and we decided to have dinner after the tasting. We sat on the patio and watched a bride get married, which I thought was odd, and we ordered the lobster claw, scallops, pork chop and nectarine tartelette. Delicious! The scallops were cooked to perfection, very tender, the risotto was slightly aldente just the way I love it. Their specialty pork chop is smoked for 4hrs, tasted amazing! To finish off, we had the nectarine tartelette with corn ice cream which hit the sweet spot. I've been coming here for years for special occasions but my last two visits I had the apple wood pork chops. I had never ordered pork chops in a restaurant before because I always thought no one can make a pork chop like my mama. Not true. I looked at the menu and it is now a smoke pork chop the waiter assured me it was even better than the apple wood preparation. I was not disappointed. I was fully entrenched in enjoying my smoked pork chop with polenta and peach chutney As always it was moist and delicious. The service was spot on and accommodating. I brought in cupcakes to be served for dessert and they plated them for us and wrote happy birthday on the birthday girls' plate. I'll be back and maybe just maybe I'll order something other than the PC's ...NOT.
GREAT ambiance, service, and food! Amongst the six of us, three ordered the sweet potato gnocchi, one ordered the pork chop, another ordered the organic roasted chicken, and i ordered the pork belly pizzetta. we could NOT stop talking about how good the food was! I can't find anything to complain about. As mentioned by others, the Pork Chops are amaizing... seriously the best I have ever had [and I have had a lot]. Amazing flavor, nice and moist. Wow. The chicken was also very good.. again very most, lots of flavor, and amazing sides. Plus, portion size is very good. The appitizer was also amazing, lots of drink options. I was too full for a full dessert, but having one of the the cheeses they have a selection of was quite nice . Plus, since the weather was nice we could sit out on the patio which was beautiful. Also, very very good service. Eat here. Our meal at this restaurant was fabulous. I added an extra star because the lady on the phone made our visit especially memorable upon learning that by BF's favorite cake is Carrot Cake. We came from San Diego to see Chris Isaak and had the Restaurant seating. Our amuse bouche tantalizes our senses. The bottle of Annika Syrah put us in the mood for a lovely evening. We had the Bison Tartare and Roasted Peach with Prosciutto for appetizer. The entrees were Applewood smoked double cut porkchop and I had the Wagyu steak and Maine lobster. Our dessert was the surprise carrot cake. The services at Wente was first class. We ended the evening sharing a bottle of Wente Riesling
Weddings and Events at Wente Vineyards
If you're planning a wedding, or a corporate Christmas party, I highly recommend this place. They are affordable, their food is first rate, and their service is excellent.I had my wedding ceremony and reception here, and it was gorgeous! Plus, Georgine, the lovely woman who helped me to plan everything out, was supportive and available. She took my worries away as they would pop up. Even to the extent of helping us to find a cool place for the flowers because my mom insisted on having her friend do the arrangements, but said friend had never done weddings in the summer before.... argh. ANYWAY! Georgine simply found some space in one of their refrigerators for us to put the centerpieces so they wouldn't get all wilty before they could be set up.Seriously, I would not have enjoyed my wedding experience as much if I didn't have the wonderful help and support of the Wente staff. Also, they made my cake as part of the price, and it was delicious and GORGEOUS!! They made it special to what I had in my head, too... it was just a fabulous experience.I highly recommend them!
I just got married here last month and it was the most beautiful day of my life! My friends and family were all able to gather at this gorgeous spot and marvel at the rolling golden hills and rustic green vineyards. From the first day we met Tricia, we felt extremely cared for. The chef worked with us on all our menu requests (including my picky vegetable palette) and created a fantastic meal that guests were RAVING about. Wedding food is generally bad and so the organic and fresh ingredients put into Wente's food is a refreshingly pleasant change. The halibut and pork chop are phenomenal! Oh, and the chocolate mocha cake - TO DIE FOR!
I got married here a couple months ago at the end of August 2010 and it was an awesome venue and could not ask for more and the weather was beautiful (we got lucky!). I searched and searched venues all over the Bay Area and found this place on http://www.herecomesth.... This venue was the cheapest in terms of site fees (other sites at $3000- $5000 with outrageous site fees and food & bev minimums was way tooooo much for our small budget) and came with everything I wanted - rustic feel, winery, food, cake, and great wine. The venue is small and romantic holding only 110 guests which was perfect for our budget. Book this place early! We booked 10 months ahead and not many Saturdays were left in the busy summer months. We opted for a Sunday wedding which was cheaper in terms of site fees and food & beverage minimums. We worked with Georgine who was incredible with helping me plan. All the questions I sent via email were always answered within a day (except on the days she's off). She had no problem with meeting us when we requested to make sure everything is going to plan. Her knowledge and advice was extremely important and helped when planning. We ate at the Wente Restaurant a couple times to taste the food and it was simply amazing. We definitely want to keep going back! The wines at Murrieta's Well are very good - especially the Los Tesoros wines. We chose the pork chop and halibut as the entree's for our wedding. My guests absolutely loved them both. The portions were huge. One good thing about this place is that if a guest doesn't show up, you can sign a food waiver to take home their food. We ate the pork chop the next day and it was yum. Another great thing that was included in the price per person was the cake. It turned out beautiful. We had the almond butter cake with strawberries and it was delish! Not too sweet, moist, and perfect hint of almond. We took home the cake that wasn't cut and saved the top tier for our 1 year anniversary. I got to enjoy my cake the next day. The venue comes with a wedding coordinator and we got to work with Ashley. She was great! I had a big wedding party and she helped with the coordination of the ceremony during the rehearsal. I brought boxes of stuff for the staff to set-up the day of the rehearsal and with the help of my family, it was all set-up the way I wanted it. Everything went smooth on the wedding day. I didn't have to worry about anything and just relaxed as I waited for the ceremony to start. I've heard nothing but great reviews from my guests about the food, venue, wine, and how everything fell into place. I definitely had my dream wedding and so happy I had it at Murrieta's Well.
