WENTE VINEYARDS CLOSES SUCCESSFUL SXSW RUN WITH OFFICIAL SHOWCASE/VIP GREEN ROOM AT MOHAWK, AS SPONSOR OF NOISE POP/ROCK RIVER MUSIC/TAKE ROOT RECORDS SHOWCASE FEATURING HEADLINERS – THE HOLD STEADY (AUSTIN, TX) – WENTE VINEYARDS topped its ultra-popular SXSW day party on wheels, which offered free rides, wine tastings and live musical performances – with its Official Showcase/VIP Green Room at Mohawk as sponsor of the NOISE POP/ROCK RIVER MUSIC/TAKE ROOT RECORDS party featuring headliners THE HOLD STEADY and featuring Bear Hands, The Blakes, The Ettes, The Soft Pack, The Hooks, Sleepy Sun, Minipop, Magic Wands, Radio 4, Adam Stephens (of Two Gallants), The Black Box, Revelation and more… Wente Vineyards’ innovative emerging artist series “Discover The Wine, Discover The Music,” is known for its trademark wine pairings with breaking artists, along with its unparalled marketing reach and visibility. This year’s day party featured performances by Ed Harcourt, Scissors For Lefty, Miranda Lee Richards, Chief, Ferocious Few, The Matches and The Federalists among others and included appearances by Panos Panay, CEO & Founder of Sonic Bids, and Jeff Daniel, President of Rock River Music. Bloomberg came along for the ride. Fifth generation Karl Wente followed up his SXSW hosting duties as official wine sponsor of the “Sunday, Bloody Sunday” private closing event, hosted by Sin City Social Club and Quill Lockhart Studio. Wente joined musician tastemakers Steve Jones, Michael Des Barres and Clem Burke among others at one of the greatest parties of the season. For more than 20 years, Wente Vineyards in Livermore, CA has enjoyed close ties to the music scene with its popular “Summer Concert Series” prompting avid music fan Karl Wente to launch “Discover The Wine, Discover The Music,” with marketing exec Heidi Richman tapped as program director of the campaign. This unique program continues to build a loyal community around great wine and great music. Wente Vineyards is the country’s oldest, continuously operated, family-owned winery, drawing from 3,000 acres of sustainably farmed Estate vineyards to create an outstanding portfolio of wines.
